New Show Ideas

About our current/past shows . . .

We're moving to a more inclusive way of putting a show together.  Once a show theme has been selected, the Production Team goes to work on the concept outline to add ideas, songs, comedy, dance, props, scenery, etc.  Through "show and tell," the concept outline is "fleshed out," and resembles the selected theme based on the input of the "players" on the team.

What is a show theme idea?
A show theme idea is a concept outline for a show that includes music, comedy, and dance.

Here are some show theme ideas to consider . . .
  • Spooky Halloween
  • Seniors on Parade (Parade songs, parodies, etc.)
  • Aloha Hawaii
  • Say How-dee! to Nashville
  • Blue Moon (Blues, Jazz, Swing)
  • Celestial Harmony: Sun, Moon, Stars (songs with sun, moon, stars in the title or lyrics)
  • A Salute to Mom's (songs that pay tribute to our mothers)
  • Beatles Theme (Beatle's songs, English humor, etc.)
  • A Beachy Time (Songs about the beach, ocean, boardwalk, etc.)
  • A Talk with the Animals (Like Dr. Doolittle, Aesop's Fables, Joel Chandler Harris stories, Rudyard Kipling's "Just So" stories.)
  • A Tonight Show:  A parody of any late night entertainment show:  Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, etc.
  • Down by the River:  Travels up or down the Mississippi River
  • Love & Marriage:  Songs and comedy about partnership.

How can we put this together as a team?

CELTX is the current industry standard.  Read about it online.

How can I get the backing tracks for the music?
KARAFUN is Nancy Knight's recommendation for this, along with a website to find karaoke version's and adjust the key to your favorite songs.  You can access these APPS from your computer, tablet, or smart phone.
